TTS Bali Project Mission Statement

We believe in education for all. We advocate a holistic approach in the sense that helping educate children also means working with mothers, families, villages, and communities.

We believe in positive cycles. From small steps and successes, people can learn, grow and become members of their community that perpetuate the positive cycle by in turn, helping others.

We believe in having a group of like-minded people work towards common goals with flexibility, cooperation and a willingness to accept and incorporate varying points of view and ideas. This includes working with other groups and accessing their networks and programs while in turn having others access TTS Bali Project networks and programs.

We believe in working with local people who truly understand local language, customs and culture. This is crucial for introducing and maintaining projects.

We believe in transparency of finance and purpose and respect contributors regardless of the capacity of the donation; be it money, materials, skills or time.

We believe in promoting a healthy and environmentally friendly life-style and do our best to incorporate these ideals into our projects.

Bali Director – Syd Joseph

Syd-Joseph-TTS-Bali-Project-2 Hi! My name is Syd Joseph. I was born and raised in Canada and am a self-professed “career teacher”. I have spent more than 20 years teaching in Canada, Japan and volunteer teaching in other countries. I’m happy to say that I am racking up the teaching hours volunteering in Bali, as well!

Fifteen years of teaching and owning a business in Japan gave me access to Asia; both the fascinating beauty of it and the devastating poverty. I love travelling and meeting people from all over, but Bali is the place that grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. I have taught, travelled and volunteered, yet the dream was always to do them all at the same time. Now, I’m livin’the dream!

In Bali, several years ago, I started to work with various people and groups on educational projects. As I was inspired to do more and more, the support also grew. TTS Bali Project was founded to support the projects listed on this site. We are so thankful for the support we’ve received to date, but the truly exciting part is what lies ahead!

I hope I can facilitate projects and bring together people locally and from abroad to work together. The future is a positive one when people come together to help children, families and communities.

Where does that put me? I’m just doing what I do. I hope you can follow us, support us or join us!
